Apple's Secret Weapon for Siri's Comeback
Apple built an internal ChatGPT-style chatbot codenamed "Veritas" that employees are using to stress-test Siri's desperately needed AI overhaul.
The app lets Apple's AI division experiment with capabilities like searching personal data and editing photos with voice commands. It's testing the "Linwood" system, which combines Apple's in-house models with third-party options.
Engineering problems pushed the AI-powered Siri launch to March 2026, triggering executive reshuffles and talent drain to competing AI labs. Apple reportedly won't launch Veritas as a standalone app - they're embedding features directly into Siri.
This feels like the correct strategy given the insane competition and Apple's current AI struggles. But March is approaching fast, and with Apple bleeding talent while the industry levels up daily, the situation still looks dire.
Apple doesn't want to compete in the chatbot market directly - they're betting everything on making Siri actually intelligent. The stakes couldn't be higher

Solana ETFs Are Weeks Away From Launch
Seven major firms just filed amended S-1s for spot Solana ETFs on Friday - Fidelity, Franklin Templeton, Bitwise, Grayscale, VanEck, CoinShares, and Canary Capital all moved simultaneously.
Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart says the coordinated timing signals back-and-forth with regulators and "approvals within weeks." ETF Store president Nate Geraci points to mid-October as the likely launch window.
The killer feature? These ETFs include staking. Fidelity's updated filing notes they'll stake SOL holdings to earn yield, making Solana ETFs potentially more attractive than Bitcoin and Ethereum counterparts.
Early indicators are explosive. REX-Osprey's Solana staking ETF launched with $300M AUM this summer, while Bitwise's European product pulled $60M in five days. Pantera Capital called Solana "next in line" for institutional adoption.
Bitcoin had its ETF moment in January. Ethereum followed in July. Now all signs point to Solana's turn, and timing couldn't be better with October historically crypto's strongest month.
This isn't just another altcoin launch - it's the start of Solana's institutional era with built-in yield advantages competitors can't match.
