FinalSpark’s Biocomputers Push Ethical Boundaries

Swiss startup FinalSpark has launched a groundbreaking service allowing scientists to rent cloud access to "biocomputers" made of human brain cells for $500 a month.

These organoids, which can "live" and compute for up to 100 days, are claimed to be up to 100,000 times more efficient for AI training than traditional silicon-based systems.

While this could drastically reduce AI’s energy consumption, the use of brain organoids in computing raises significant ethical concerns, including the potential for consciousness in these cell clusters.

I think this would bring a “gray area definition” to the term AGI.

We’ll see how Elon Musk reacts to it over the coming days.

Today In Crypto

Crypto Market Wobbles as XRP and TON Defy the Trend

Crypto majors kicked off the week in the red, with Bitcoin dropping 3% to just above $58,000, and the broader market, as measured by the CoinDesk 20 Index, falling 2.2%. ETH and SOL also declined. Bucking the trend, XRP rallied 3% after Ripple's settlement with the SEC, which ordered a $125 million payment—far less than the $2 billion sought.

TON, linked to Telegram, also rose nearly 3% on news of a partnership with HashKey, focusing on Web3 gaming. Meanwhile, new data challenges the narrative linking Trump’s election chances with Bitcoin’s price.

I would keep an eye out for the Web3 gaming space. Definitely a lot of major potential there over the coming years.
