Google DeepMind's Gemini 1.5 Pro Overtakes GPT-4o

For the first time, Google DeepMind's experimental Gemini 1.5 Pro has claimed the top spot on the AI Chatbot Arena leaderboard, surpassing OpenAI's GPT-4o and Anthropic's Claude-3.5 with an impressive score of 1300.

Gemini 1.5 Pro gathered over 12,000 community votes during a week of testing, achieving the #1 position on both overall and vision leaderboards. This experimental model is available for early testing in Google AI Studio and LMSYS Chatbot Arena. While specific improvements haven't been disclosed, this unexpected rise signals a potential shake-up in the LLM space, with rivals likely to respond soon.

How does this apply to you?

One of the biggest standout features of Gemini 1.5 Pro is that it has an extended context window that can process 2 million tokens, which is WAY more than other consumer chatbots available.

That means it can process really large documents, codebases, and video files. I occasionally have to review long sales calls for my team clients, long form sales pages, and also legal documents. Gemini could be great for cutting down time spent on stuff like this.

For the corporate professionals reading…

Crypto Falls of a Cliff Over the Weekend

Bitcoin is currently sitting at $53,149 as of this morning. ETH is at $2,384. So basically we saw a MASSIVE drop over the weekend. SOL is down to $129.

Realistically this major dropoff was probably caused by recession woes. Apple, NVIDIA, and many other major companies had their share price experience 4-5% drops.

A lot of traders are predicting emergency rate cuts from the Fed.

I’m no economist (although I was an econ major in college) and I can’t speak to the health of the overall economy…

But I’m confident that crypto prices will bounce back. Transparently, I’m planning to buy a significant amount of BTC and ETH over these next few days since I doubt we will see prices this low for the rest of the year.
