Exciting news - l’m adding a new section to the newsletter on “robotics.”
Before diving into this weeks’ news, I put together a training breaking down how to clone a video version of yourself with AI. If you make IG reels, YouTube shorts, TikToks, run ads, or anything else that requires you to be on camera, then this could be very helpful for you.

TODAY IN VR
Sony Pauses PSVR 2 Production
Looks like Sony has had a rough time selling the PSVR2. Sales are failing to meet revenue expectations and they’re sitting on a pile of inventory. Because of this they’ve paused all production for the time being.
Although the PSVR2 didn’t meet the sales volume of Apple’s Vision Pro or the Meta Quest 3, it was still a heavy hitter in the VR headset world (and one of the more relevant players in the space).
I was pretty surprised by this given that Meta benefitted from the Vision Pro launch (the VR industry as a whole got a lot of eyeballs from it).
However, Sony isn’t as big of a company as Apple or Meta who can afford to go $20B in the red on VR initiatives.
TODAY IN AI
Apple Launches New LLM
LLM’s have been making CRAZY advances over the last few months. Between ChatGPT launching custom GPT’s, Sora, and GPT 5 (soon). Google launching Gemini Pro. Claude 3…
Apple seems to be the one big tech company who hasn’t launched an LLM. Which is strange due since they’ve had SIRI for quite some time now.
Well that changed earlier this week…
Apple published details on its new MM1 AI model. According to a research paper they published, Apple is confident it will be able to perform tasks such as image captioning, visual question answering, and natural language inference with a high level of accuracy.
Apple is also in discussions with Google to license Gemini for some new features for iOS 18.
TODAY IN CRYPTO
Crypto Price Rollercoaster
BTC and ETH have been ALL OVER THE PLACE over the last week or two. We saw several different BTC ATH’s, followed by a major drawdown.
As of this writing we’re sitting at $65,000. This certainly isn’t making institutional investors very happy who likely hopped in after BTC cracked $70,000.
Although price volatility has been insane for BTC and ETH, we haven’t seen as much action on altcoins.
The BTC halving is coming up pretty soon so this will likely lead to more volatility.
If you’re new to crypto investing, then this is a good test for you.
TODAY IN ROBOTICS
Mercedes Benz Partners with Apptronik
Mercedes Benz recently partnered with humanoid robotics company Apptronik to explore options for using robots in their manufacturing.
Car manufacturing is a prime industry for robotics automation. Not many young people want to go into these sorts of jobs. Many American plants have outsourced abroad to locations where it’s cheaper to hire labor.
If Mercedes can cut down on its manufacturing costs through robotics, then it will be able to save an enormous amount of money on labor. Not to mention robots can work 24/7/365.
I think it’s more of a question of “when” rather than “if” robotics will play a major role in this space.
