OpenAI Buys Chat.com for $15M+

OpenAI just acquired the premium domain chat.com, reportedly for over $15 million, in what may be one of history's largest domain buys. Originally bought by HubSpot founder Dharmesh Shah in 2023, the sale reportedly involves OpenAI shares, signaling Shah’s long-term stake in the company's vision.

Now, chat.com redirects directly to ChatGPT, hinting at a strategic rebrand and possibly indicating OpenAI’s shift beyond the "GPT" brand. This might mark the start of a broader AI push as OpenAI moves toward more generalized AI capabilities.

I am not particularly familiar with Chat.com however, I use Hubspot pretty much everyday for clients of mine.

It’s tough to say what the implications of this acquisition will be, but I would personally love to see more AI agent capabilities inside of CRM’s like Hubspot.

For a lot of small businesses, tech capabilities and the ability to solve tech problems holds back the pace of companies. ChatGPT could definitely help to fix this.

Bitcoin traded in the high $80,000 range this morning which is a MASSIVE increase from last week.

ETH has cracked $3K. Solana is over $200 as well.

It’s safe to say that the Trump victory has caused crypto prices to skyrocket. The question is how far will they continue to rise? And on what timeline?
