OpenAI Shuts Down AI Safety Team

May 21st, 2024

Before diving into today’s news on AI, VR, Crypto, and Robotics…

A friend of mine is working on a course where he shows people how to make money with automated crypto trading bots. I’ve personally been investing my money in AI driven trading bots for the last few years (and have made pretty good money with it).

If you’re interested in learning more about it, just reply to this email and I’ll send you more details.

TODAY IN AI

OpenAI Long Term AI Safety Team Shuts Down

Sam Altman and OpenAI have historically been on the more “aggressive” side of AI innovation. While people like Elon Musk advocate for safety rails and avoiding the potential dangers of AI, Sam Altman has pushed forward with little to no regard for this.

Recently OpenAI had a few exec team departures. These people were the ones leading the AI safety team at OpenAI.

Depending on which side of the spectrum you’re on, this could be good news or bad news.

Either way, I would expect to see continued lightspeed AI innovation from OpenAI. According to Altman, GPT 4 was a total embarassment and GPT 5 will be substantially better.

TODAY IN CRYPTO

Crypto and Political Elections

15% of the US currently owns some form of cryptocurrency. Whether that’s BTC, ETH, SOL, Dogecoin, or some other memecoins…

15% is a pretty significant amount (granted this is primarily young people). It is definitely a large enough percentage to sway the results of an election. One of our beliefs is that whichever political party advocates a more “pro-crypto” stance is going to take the White House.

Gary Gensler and the SEC have really seemed to have honed in on crypto in 2024 and HODL’ers aren’t particularly happy about this.

A leader in the White House that is a crypto advocate could probably help us out a bit with getting Gary off our backs.

TODAY IN ROBOTICS

Unitree Humanoid Makes Insane Progress

Chinese robotics company, Unitree, recently put together a robot that is growing at an incredibly fast pace.

Their G1 robot recently was able to do a backflip. It has also developed the ability to perform small cognitive tasks like smashing nuts in its fingers.

I added a video at the link below. Despite the massive amount of funding flowing into the world of robotics right now, this space seems to be flying under the radar.

Sovereign’s goal is to bring awareness to the importance of:

  • Owning Multiple Passports

  • Purchasing Crypto Assets

  • Creating Online Income Streams and

  • Building a life of Sovereignty
