Is AI Coming for Your Job?

Google is introducing a new "Take notes for me" feature powered by its Gemini AI within Google Meet, allowing users to focus on meetings while the AI captures key points automatically.

This feature, available to Workspace customers with specific add-ons, is part of the AI Meetings and Messaging package, costing $10 per user/month.

This move marks Google's push towards an AI-assisted future of work, directly challenging smaller startups like Otter AI and Fireflies, who have built their businesses on offering similar services.

A common move in the big tech playbook is to try and acquire smaller startups to adopt their tech. If they can’t acquire them, they just copy them. Although Google isn’t having a very good year, I wouldn’t be surprised if easily dominated companies like Otter AI and Fireflies.

On a different note…

In a past life of mine, I was a Management Consulting Analyst for a firm called Accenture. I got paid close to a 6 figure salary (pretty good money for a 23 year old) to make powerpoints, sit in meetings, and take notes. There were also thousands of other analysts just like me that cost the firm hundreds of millions of dollars per year in payroll.

AI, in its current state, could automate this job VERY easily. Microsoft Co-Pilot can pump out tons of Powerpoints. This new meeting notes feature could take better notes than your average analyst.

I’m not saying this is going to happen right now (generally speaking, large corporations are the slowest ones to adopt new tech like AI).

However, when they do, it’s going to have a massive impact.

Bitcoin Slips as Market Awaits Crucial Economic Data

Bitcoin slid towards $58,000, triggering a wider crypto market sell-off as traders braced for a week of significant economic reports. BTC is down around 2.15% in the last 24 hours, while the broader digital asset market lost nearly 2.9%, led by Solana's SOL, which fell 3% to $149.

Market watchers warn of further declines, citing technical weaknesses and muted ETF inflows. Key economic data, including U.S. and U.K. CPI readings and Japan's PPI, could influence market direction.

Additionally, the Bank of Japan’s interest rate policies continue to weigh on BTC, adding to the market's uncertainty.

Just a few short weeks after the ETH ETF, we’re seeing some pretty rough prices.

Autonomous Workers and AI Masters on the Rise

It’s been a pretty crazy week in the world of Robotics.

Figure AI just unveiled Figure 02, their most advanced humanoid robot which is now working autonomously at BMW Group's Plant Spartanburg. Built in just 18 months, Figure 02 is set to revolutionize the manufacturing industry.

DeepMind has developed a pingpong playing robot that’s achieved human-level performance, while Boston Dynamics showcased Atlas’ dexterity with pushups and burpees.

Meanwhile, researchers developed an AI model with 95% accuracy in predicting major diseases, and an autonomous robot just completed the world’s first human dental procedure, cutting the time from two hours to just 15 minutes.
