A Step Toward Emotionally Aware AI or Just Hype?

OpenAI has started a limited rollout of its much-anticipated ‘Advanced Voice Mode’ for ChatGPT Plus users, enabling real-time, natural conversations with the AI, which can now detect and respond to emotions.

Initially available to a select group of users, the feature is set to be accessible to all Plus users by fall 2024. Powered by GPT-4o, this mode can sense emotions such as sadness, excitement, and even singing. While video and screen-sharing features are promised for later, OpenAI's move signals a shift towards AI as a collaborative and emotionally aware companion, with potential applications in customer service and mental health.

Transparently…I have found that being really mean to AI actually works pretty well for getting better outputs. If I’m not getting the outputs that I want, I typically just criticize it with my words until it does better.

Maybe in the future you will be able to yell at ChatGPT and it will get better outputs? Who knows.

Crypto Stagnation or XRP's Resurgence?

The crypto market remained relatively flat during the European morning, with the CoinDesk 20 Index (CD20) down by around 0.35% and Bitcoin dropping 0.6% to approximately $66,000. XRP stood out as the biggest gainer among major cryptocurrencies, rising over 4.5% to its highest level since March, amid a scheduled token unlock and optimism for a settlement in the ongoing SEC-Ripple lawsuit. Traders are also eyeing developments in the SEC’s case against Binance, with potential implications for the broader market.

Spot ether ETFs recorded a modest $33 million inflow after a four-day losing streak, yet they still face a cumulative net outflow of over $400 million. Grayscale’s ETHE led the losses, while BlackRock’s ETHA saw the highest inflows. Conversely, bitcoin ETFs ended their winning streak with net outflows of $18 million, despite BlackRock’s IBIT recording $75 million in inflows.

Nvidia is expected to experience more significant price swings than Bitcoin and Ether, with its 30-day options implied volatility surging, while Bitcoin’s and Ether’s implied volatility declined. Nvidia's stock has become a sentiment barometer for both equity and crypto markets, maintaining a strong correlation with Bitcoin prices.
