Major Automakers Using XR

Companies like Ford and Volvo are using XR headsets to avoid the creation of costly prototypes. XR allows these companies to test out new features (for example: a different size on a door or window) without having to mock up a completely new model.

Volvo has actually been using Varjo headsets since 2019. Ford started this last year and has been extremely happy with the results so far.

XR offers auto manufacturers a lot of opportunity to move faster, save millions of dollars, and allow employees to collaborate better together.

X New Stories Feature

Elon Musk is rolling out new “Stories” created for X (aka Twitter).

Grok will analyze posts and create news summaries (which will be called “Stories).

Elon also raised an enormous amount of money lately for X.AI ($6B).

He has historically been “afraid of AI” in many ways. However, it seems that Elon is moving fullscale ahead into AI as part of an effort to rival Sam Altman and OpenAI.

BTC Processes 1,000,000,000 Transactions

As of this week, BTC (which was originally created 15 years ago in 2009) has officially processed 1 billion transactions since its network launched.

That is a LOT of transactions and definitely speaks to the strength of its utility.

A lot of people have been antsy lately about BTC’s volatility. Post BTC halving, we saw about 10 days of steady prices.

Last week we saw a fairly substantial drop into the mid-$50K range.

As of this morning we’re back up to $63K.

We believe it’s important to simply accept the fact that all cryptocurrencies (including BTC) are still a relatively early stage asset class that has higher volatility than other asset classes.

It’s important to be able to take a step back from the day to day volatility and look at things on long term time horizon.

There are already major CEO’s like Michael Saylor that are holding a substantial amount of crypto on their company’s balance sheet.

Jack Dorsey just made a commitment to start investing a significant amount of Square (rebranded to Block) into BTC.

1,000,000,000 transactions is a major milestone and one not to be taken lightly.

Field AI Robots Operate Autonomously

One of the biggest challenges in the field of robotics is getting robots to operate autonomously in an unknown environment.

For example:

Putting a robot on an assembly line inside a Ford factory is pretty straightforward. Sending a robot into a warzone where it must react to bullets, planes, and other dangers is very challenging.

DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency - a highly secretive branch of the Department of Defense) has been testing autonomous robots underground for several years now.

Much of this information is also being applied by Field AI, which has recruited a ton of top AI talent recently.

Field AI robots are able to handle unstructured, unmapped environments without reliance on other models.

This is going to have massive implications over the coming years for a lot of different industries.
